Interview with Marcello Faneschi

Today I got to interview Italian composer 'il grande maestro' Marcello Faneschi! During the interview I asked him what his views were on how both the acoustics and the aesthetics of an environment can have an effect on the performance characteristics of a musician.

As well as working with world renowned record label RCA, Marcello has worked as a professional songwriter and performer for many successful Italian artists including Domenico Modugno and Renzo Rubino. I asked him, based on his professional background, what his thoughts were on how the acoustics and aesthetics of an environment could have an effect on the performance of a musician.

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

As we can see from the interview, Marcello believes that the acoustics play an important role on the psychological aspect of a performer. However, Marcello seems to have conflicting ideas about how the aesthetics can affect the performance of a musician. On one hand the aesthetics are fundamental; as the performer is a human being. On the other hand however, surely a professional Musician should perform to the best of their abilities no matter what.

This was a fantastic interview and it was a great honour to talk with Marcello about his career and thoughts on the subject.
